What users say is broken or frustrating
Price and the 2025 increase. TrainingPeaks raised its annual subscription from $124.99 to $134.99 effective April 2025 (an ~8% increase). Users on the DC Rainmaker forums and Reddit described the move as "greedy," especially coaches who must pay both an athlete and a coach subscription simultaneously. The cost is the single most common reason cited for leaving.
Product stagnation. A recurring theme across forums (Slowtwitch, LetsRun, TrainerRoad) is that TrainingPeaks has "become stagnant over recent years" with development focus shifted toward payment infrastructure rather than features that help athletes train better. Garmin Connect
What users say it does well
Garmin Connect uniquely integrates with Garmin hardware in ways no third-party platform can match. Metrics like Body Battery, HRV Status, Training Readiness, Performance Condition, Sleep Score, and Daily Suggested Workouts are computed from raw sensor data on the device or on Garmin's servers — they are not available anywhere else.
